Life Size Master Yoda from The Empire Strikes Back

Two weeks ago, while waiting for a meeting to surprise a friend, my colleagues and I had discussion about Star Wars and Lord of the Ring. We were conversing about our enthusiasm, fandom of these two. One of them was a huge Star Wars fan. He had quite some collections. The other one was a Lord of the Rings fan, and we had some similar characteristics. And I....  *indecisive* I'm actually into Lord of the Rings more than Star Wars. But I adore Master Yoda for his wise words, perhaps for his green skin :D

Here is Life Size Master Yoda from The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars V, that I made in 32.5 hours. He's literally my roommate now.

After Colouring

Details

Framed, Master Yoda and I

I can dye my hair now like Luke. My life is almost complete!
Probably going to watch Star Wars,  Lord of the Rings, and The Hobbit back-to-back. Yay or nay?

A Bouquet

A Bouquet.

I always love the sound of it. In lyrics or writings or when people say it. Here it is, a bouquet of flowers.
Today's topic is colors experiment. So far, I was VERY comfortable with dark colors, black, grey, and white. Whenever I tried bright colors, eventually it turned dark. Gradually, it became darker and darker. Friends and lecturer were saying the same thing when there was a presentation. I was am a dark person. Dark force within me. Haha. Happy Sunday, people!

Detail

Random Pictures (That I Promised)

This is actually the first caricature that I've drawn and the first time I've drawn digitally.
Somehow I struggled so much since I don't have any drawing tablet. Long live Trackpad!
*my cousin always shakes his head everytime he sees me working with Adobe Products*
He said, "I've never known anyone who's so expert using trackpad than mouse or tablet..."

I'm feeling happy somehow... Awkward at the same time? Haha!

Next is TOP from Big Bang! Go Big Bang Go! Pens

This is a hatch drawing using all black technical pens that I had (that are already broken or else, and I still keep them). I really love hatch drawing. Messy. Tension. Passion. There's an extensive sensation whenever you mark a line. Line by line. The thickness. Deepness. Can you feel it?

Talking about Big Bang. I was am still a Big Bang fan, but not really a huge one.
See... I have this tendency to adore all musician(s), actor(s), and artist(s) related during their debut time. They were not really famous, yet I felt there are something there. There's something big will happen to them. And, boom! They are famous in an instant! Instant noodle! Perhaps I have an instinct to know who's going to stay long enough in this artistic industry... Haha! *Self-pleasing*
Move on... After the fame has covered the entire world, I will find other underground artists. And the adoration level to the pretty infamous icons is still there or decreasing a little bit. It depends, really. When the marketing gets really involved, my heart just fractures slowly. Slowly, it is.

Well, well. Why I'm talking about this tendency. Actually, this drawing was intended for a friend who really adores TOP. Her working desk was full with TOP Pictures. And, she just infected us with TOP Virus by sticking the pictures everywhere! My little red book. My desk. My computer. Infectious! Miss her madness!

Cartoon drawing of Spongebob Squarepants and a friend. Mixed Media

She's really a huge fan of Spongebob! Oops! I just realized we are at the age of a quarter century. Yeah, and we're still in love with cartoons. Best people ever!
Drawing cartoon was pretty fun with the color and that mad funny eyes. Expression, of course! When drawing one, you'll learn a lot about expression, movement, how to make an attitude. Getting mad, happy, sad. Feeling stupid. It was pretty much learning how to make expressions using your face. Yea, I look funny and stupid making a lot of looks and doing some sounds in front of mirror. My mom just looked at me. Shook her head. I was pretty much learning how to act! Haha! That what makes a cartoon is so interesting. And the hilarious nonsense!

Next! Woman in Blue with Flowers. Markers

I really want to know how it feels to use marker as a media. The color is amazing! Sketching with markers is seeing a world in a vibrant brand new vision. As a black and white avid, I was, colors are a stepping stone to see a new horizon. See it?

Last one, Daily. Watercolor, ink, pen.

It's a drawing of middle-aged man and his colleague working in a coffee shop (kopitiam). You'll find this scenery everywhere, everyday in Southeast Asia, particularly Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Don't you think they are really great? To work in a small space with a lot of plates and glasses in front of them. I'm sure I'll break some. There's fellowship between one person and others. Not breaking any glassware when the movement is limited due to compact area. Where the steam is there. And the flow is absolutely solid.
Good flow, good drink. I missed that one kopitiam where I always chatted with the nice uncle and auntie there.

Best Friend & Her Boyfriend's Portrait

And I did this portrait for my best friend.
She just went back to hometown bringing some goodies. And here's present for her.
I think their anniversary is coming soon. They are great couple! I'm always happy to hear some stories from them. Silly, funny stories.

*Details. Call it messy or whatever, yet it does have meaning. I'm going to share the meaning in the future!
Well, gotta go soon. I'm going to re-watch Star Wars V and draw Yoda. Life-size, it is! Hehehe...

P.S. I do some drawing requests. Sorry for not uploading them. Gonna share them soon! Promise!

#5 The Finish and Start

Saturday, 11 January 2509

After meeting the mysterious boy, those surreal voices were becoming loud and clear. I heard complaints, moans, groans, and those grievances. All the voice were disturbing and neurotic. Though my friends were still around and checking my condition, I was isolating myself. It was so painful that my friends couldn’t even bear to watch. Al was always there helping me out with the daily activities.

One day I decided to ask the boy (#4 Saturday Fool), what had happened. He just stood there looking at the sky in silence. Without no hesitation, I ran away with Al and the boy from the city towards the hill. It was late night. The lights from the skyscrapers were still beaming dazzlingly. After hours running away from the bustling night, I managed getting out of the city. It was quiet here. Serene. Voices were disappeared.

The City, 11 January 2509

The boy stood beside me and pointed to the other side of the world I had never seen in my life.
It was an unforgettable night.
The night that I saw my hometown for the very last time.

Note:
Probably this is the last Stygian drawing. Actually the writings can be more detailed, comprehensive, complete,... Like my previous essays during college years, there’s a lot of missing links here and there. A lot of re-writings are really helpful! It does matter! Oh! There’s a lot of messy drawings here. I’ll share with you soon in the future.
Random thing: I have one resolution that I want to do this year! Happy 2014!

#3 The Stone

Monday, 3 October 2507

Hello Monday! The first day of the week and life was so slow this very day. Today was just like a usual one: reshaping hands and feet, hair-styling, and repairing the snapped mechanism. Hands and eyes are pretty much worn out. The best part of the day was probably talking to my pet, Al. He was always running around the corner and giving me some surprises, which were mostly some junks: bolts, machines’ sprinkles, or black dust. Though his gifts were mostly unpleasant, I appreciated his action the most.

So here we go again. After working, I always waited for him on my desk facing the entrance door. It was unusually long; he didn’t come out from that door in five minutes. Me, with full of curiosity coming after him. It was this stone. Perhaps a crystal. Guess it was too heavy for him to handle that pebble. When I held it in my palm, I felt the warmness and peacefulness sensation. I was wondering who was the owner of this stone. Perhaps rechecking my customer list would help me to identify the owner.

The Stone

Once I know the owner, I will tell you guys!

Note:
Talking about profession (#2 Day-to-Day). I have a news for you! I’ve got a job! I’m going to work next week. It’s a good news, right? Well, maybe, maybe not. I know I need to work and have money to make a living, but this inner voice asks me to draw more. I LOVE DRAWING! Reading some articles about life is pretty much inspiring because I’m tired of life. Depressing, maybe... Speechless... I was speechless yesterday, thinking about this and that. Too much thinking makes my eyes blurry. What would you do if your inner heart said ‘A’ while your condition and environment demanded you to stop doing ‘A” for that materialistic way of life? I drew the palm based on mine. I'm amazed with how complicated our lines are.. And the stone, this stone possibly represents my inner heart. I adore spiritual values and hope to hold the stone with my own palm. Maybe a tea time with Dalai Lama will calm me down...

#2 Day-to-Day

Friday, 30 September 2507

Salute people! Here’s Eve! It’s been a while! I just remember I haven’t introduced myself properly. My name is Eve Levie, a 21 years old woman living in the central of Stygian. Hmm... Where do I start? Perhaps my daily activities...

Every day I wake up at 7 am after hearing that blaring alarm. Banging it won’t stop the thunderous speaker; primitive technology might deafening me... For the last couple months, I was thinking to resell this alarm to second-hand store at the next district since no one in this town wanted to possess this loud weird-looking object. I thought this object was going to be an antique, seeing that four generations has owned this thing. Pfft, wrong intuition. The latest infamous gadget is the Glower. It fits to any walls; it wakes you up with the selected light color and controlled warm radiation. So, who will choose the alarm? Me! I’m still treasuring my great-great grandpa’s thingies. But... Sometimes they are really bothering me... Enough with weird objects. Let’s move on to what I’m doing every day besides banging the alarm.

Me, an automation surgeon. You heard that right! Practicing surgery to automation has been passed for ten generations. Seeing the beauties covering the tidy cables and machineries is my everyday sight; colored eyes; invisible eyelids; tanned, fair, hairy, smooth skin; thin, thick lips; big, small ears; this and that nose; hands, legs, fingers, all of that you can imagine. While few of Stygian’s Semi-Autos are the loyal comers, most of my customers are mainly the Autos from There. Perhaps, standing for almost 500 years is the reason they keep coming around; the reputation, indeed. I’m still confused since I know there are some good  clinics out there; and I can say, ours are just okay... This regular work... Lately I don’t find it fascinating at all...

I remember the first time of exposing the internal organ; it was three years ago. I was amazed on how their anatomies were done faultlessly. It’s amazed how a human can create a complex being and make them live with us. Up until now, I wonder why the autos keep changing their appearance. They are just fine with the long nose, big eyes, long legs, and those long list. Besides appearance, their physical powers are remarkable. Appearance score: high. Physical power: high. Brain power... As expected, high! I wish I can see their world up there and understand their consecutive changing.

That’s me posing with my three years old ant, Al.

I think, Al is the cutest ant ever. He hides in my drawers whenever I do the dirty jobs. I don’t know what he’s doing in there; I think he’s planning for another shocking surprise. Spot the two repositories? Two in demand faces came in just now: the one with the blond hair and brunette hair. Giving options to client is the best move to do, especially for that puzzled Auto that will come in... one hour.

I’m better preparing the procedure first. So, see you in the future!

Note:
Actually I come to realize that I draw things that I’ve never experienced or had before. See that New York postcard (#1 Moving to Stygian), the polaroid-kinda-print, a pet, the human organs? What? No, no... I’m fascinated on how human parts work and how doctors save patients. I think I watch too much medical and war dramas. Flowers? I have floral prints and that floral clothes, but I’ve never had a real flower before. Maybe people look at me as that tomboyish person. On the contrary, I love flowers :) Love, peace, flowers yo!

#1 Moving to Stygian

Monday, 27 September 2507

Salute from Stygian, the most populous district of earth’s underground! It sounds weird, since most of you can find the information on the web... Here’s how I describe Stygian. Imagine. A busy region full of colorful lights along with immense tall buildings and convenient transportation system. Sounds interesting, huh? No?

Thinking of moving to Stygian? Hmm... First, let me babble about the vehicle, the most interesting topic around my circle. There are two public transit companies that dominate Stygian: Up, the latest company with its cleaner, safer, and faster motto; and TO, Transit Organization, the 400 years old underground transport company. Traffic jams and absurd queue lines will consume most of activities here. My suggestion is using your own transportation, the skateboard. Though it’s time-consuming, you will have a chance for sightseeing within the long hours of the queueing and trips; besides it’s slim, light, expandable, and user-friendly. You can rent it here, however the cost is insanely overpriced. The Cab, the short term of Cabboat, is highly commendable for the pleasant service, yet the fare is far beyond my imagination. While driving the mobile is the high-class act, having a pet, particularly a giant flying one considers classier. It is an easy maintenance transport: no more than food, water, and the enclosure. Actually there are more transportations out there. I may stop talking now or else; I may sound like a mobile freak...  But hey! I really need one of those transports!

Not forgetting to warn you, the shady thief in the junkie crowd that aims at your chunky pockets is the main profession in this area, specifically central area. Crime rates are pretty high in neighborhood: in the dark alleys, rooftops, even in residences. I will talk to you about this subject later. So, be careful whenever, wherever, whatever you are!

Every time I think about moving, I keep my mother’s words in my mind: to move is to not flee from troubles, to be needed by others, and to affect good changes in one life with others. Yesterday, my friend said that crazy bad thing happened in one’s life and the only options are to run away or to face it. I still don’t know the meaning of their sayings. May I experience it someday. May you find moving here is a life-changing experience.

The latest postcard of the major intersection in Stygian, Stygian Square.

That’s me at the right side of the postcard with mossy colored coat and pink headphone. I was standing in front of my home office, the one with 24 HOURS sign. Spot that?

Note:
The Times Square in NYC was my reference for that postcard illustration. Some of you might get that right! Well, it’s been my dream to step on that big city where dreams are made. I will!
In the future, you’ll see a lot of ships and bugs as the main transportations. Wondering why I use those transports? In fact that I don’t like ship on the water. I don’t like water since I drown a lot of times. Even when I was saving drowning kid, I was drowned and he was saved. Thank goodness! Yeah! I swim with that ‘stone’ style. Don’t laugh at me! I will be a great companion to stay with your stuff while you are swimming, diving, or sea sport-ing :)

Seafood Time!

Design this and got rejected... Gotta work harder! :) LOVE THE SHRIMP!!!

Hansel and Gretel, Maybe?

I was wondering what people think when they see this picture. A nice grandma with her lovely grandchildren or an evil witch with anonymous lost children; or else?
Here's the picture that I drew from the the dark side of fairy tales, Hansel and Gretel, also my favorite fairy tale. Hope there will be another Hansel and Gretel adaptation :))

P.S. I love the children!
P.P.S. I'm still thinking what am I going to draw next!

Last Moment of Strawberries

Here's the last piece of strawberry memories. Thanks to great Japanese blog, jollygoo for the lovely picture of Strawberry House in Japan.

Hate to say goodbye to these strawberries after long weeks and bittersweet stories with beloved ones.
May strawberries live in our heart :')

P.S. Next week's theme is going to be magical! Hope I can share the magical moments with you guys during this summer time!!

Bundt Cake

Neapolitan Zebra Bundt Cake by a great blog, bakersroyale. I'm totally falling in love to this delicioso cake :P

Magic Cake Magic Sunday

Neapolitan Magic Cake by cakefyi on magical Sunday!
A magical cake with magical sprinkles! I'd love to have one! Hehe...

Mug Cake!

Here's Strawberry Nutella Mug Cake from cookiecrazedmama! A beautiful dessert that I would eat during movie marathon with warm blanket. Yum yum! :)

Totally going to draw another dessert!!! Super happy with what I'm doing right now.

Let's Share the Cakes!

I drew the Strawberry Cake into four pieces. Cake tastes better when it's shared, doesn't it?
The picture of Strawberry Cake at Clinton Street Baking was captured beautifully by seriouseats. Drawing sweets was really enticing. *drooling*

Another piece that I drew today, No Bake Fresh Strawberry Pie! Strawberries, cream cheese and chocolates?! I believe there's no better combination than that! Check out the recipes at myrecipes

I think my saliva will drop uncontrollably soon whenever I enter my room >.<

Strawberries on Tuesday

White Chocolate Berry Cheesecake! Again, thanks to goodfood for a great recipe!

French-Style Strawberry Yogurt Cake with Whipped Cream and Berries! Found a great food blog, Ezra Pound Cake. A lovely yogurt cake.

I really can't wait to frame all the pictures :)

Strawberries in Progress

Just finished the rough drawing for this strawberries. Going to do the next one! :)
The second day without sweets was harder than I thought. There was a lot of food promotions in front of food places. Their banners were more obvious. The food pictures were tastier than before. Everytime I passed people with foods and drinks in their hands. It was just so tempting! May I pass the day calmly.

Well, I just ate oatmeal for supper. Not as yummy as fritters, steaks, and fries, pizzas, or ... Oh my! It will be a long list. Time for drawing the next strawberries! :)

P.S. Today's headache was really painful. I will get better in a month!!!

Strawberry and Vanilla Shortcakes

Thanks to bbcgoodfood for the great recipe! The recipe was made by Jane Hornby.

The funny thing about this drawing is... It makes me drooling whenever I enter my room. The irony thing is my cholesterol level is way too high at a young age! Guess I need to do diet. I mean, change my lifestyle :) Ok, I'm still in denial, because I love food and I can't eat them!

The close up version.
Today was the first day without sweets. Sweet sugar dessert! Argh!!!
